Greenprint worked with San Diego County to help develop a pilot program to complement its Waterscape Rebate Program, which funds water saving landscaping features. The pilot program evaluated the stormwater management capabilities of various types of green infrastructure features like rain gardens and bioswales, cisterns, and permeable pavement.

Under the pilot, Greenprint led a multi-benefit retrofit project at Spring Valley Community Church to increase stormwater management capabilities while making the church's outdoor gathering space more functional. Permeable pavers, native landscaping, and a rain garden replaced traditional turf to better manage stormwater runoff and recharge groundwater reserves, and a 240-gallon cistern was added to collect water from the roof that could be used for watering plants and cleaning the patio. Greenprint also worked with church leadership to develop interpretive signage so parishioners could learn more about green infrastructure, and organized a ribbon cutting to further community awareness.
