On the forefront of environmental justice, San Diego’s Chollas Creek Watershed faces immediate and severe climate change impacts, including recent severe flooding and extreme heat.

Greenprint is supporting frontline community organization, Groundwork San Diego-Chollas Creek, in empowering residents to advocate for equitable public engagement and effective multi-benefit solutions to climate impacts.

To date, Greenprint has supported Groundwork to:

  • Raise private philanthropic funds to support these efforts

  • Design and facilitate a Resident Empowerment Training program, a four-month paid training to empower residents as advocates for climate resilience and the inclusion of green infrastructure in public capital projects

We are currently co-developing a community-centered green infrastructure planning process for the entire watershed and supporting resident organizers in launching a public education and advocacy campaign for multibenefit stormwater solutions that will also secure community participation in the green infrastructure planning process.
