Greenprint is partnering with the Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT) to implement green stormwater projects across six of Chicago’s south suburban communities: Blue Island, Calumet City, Calumet Park, Dolton, Riverdale, and Robbins.

With $6 million in ARPA funds from Cook County, our team is working in close collaboration with local stakeholders to assess, prioritize, and ultimately construct green infrastructure project recommendations identified in the Calumet Corridor RainReady Plan. Building upon the existing plans and engaging with local residents, RainReady municipalities, and regional entities like MWRD, CMAP, and the South Suburban Land Bank, Greenprint integrates community priorities with technical considerations to identify and advance high-impact projects. Resident Steering Committees conducted thorough evaluations of the projects, focusing on stormwater impacts and the additional benefits they hoped to achieve, like creating community green spaces.

The highest-priority projects were identified through collaborative work sessions. Greenprint is now engaging landowners, developing designs, estimating costs, and guiding projects through the design and permitting phases. Local design-build and maintenance partners are involved in the construction and long-term maintenance of selected projects to support sustainable and resilient outcomes.
